We've all gotten those Nigerian Scam emails at least once. My Blackberry chirps at least twice a day with a notification (in terrible English, by the way) that I've won something, or that someone in Africa is in need of my help moving large sums of money. I've got so many of them tucked away in my spam folder and it's getting kind of annoying. So I've decided to start spamming the spammers. For example, I'll respond to something like this:
with something like this:
When I started doing that, my level of spam per day started to decline. Maybe I taught them how if feels for something like that to come into your inbox and they stopped. I guess that makes me a some kind of anti-spam hero. I like the sound of that.
Maybe I can start an anti-spam software company. When a piece of spam is found in your inbox, the software would automatically reciprocate a different piece of spam mail to the address that sent it. No, make that 10 pieces of spam. That would really deter them.
But I need your help. Send your full name, address, social security number, telephone number, and bank account number(s) to me, Mr. Ray Grange, in Kisumu, Kenya so I can start building my company. Please, I am in dire need.
With warm regards, Ray Grange

Hahaha, nice.
Your Scyther picture has won me over.
As the above commenter said - your Scyther picture made me happy. :D
@conscientious_earwax - @josiebunny - best pokemon ever haha
Ha awesome. Spam sucks, but filters have gotten good enough so that it's not really a problem, I think.

Was I just spammed at the end of this weblog?
Just kidding.
Man, that's some weird spam though, transfer of bank accounts? That really hits you in the head as some sort of spam now doesn't it? At least your fun way of working through the problem just solved your problem (haha). Sorry, I can't make any sort of donation to the cause. My mommy says that I should be careful with what actions I take. :]
I haven't gotten spam in a while
but when i do i get the urge to spam them back =]
i should use your idea
muahahahaha..........
Love the last paragraph, haha.
lol, cool! I've never thought of that. :)
scyther.
problem is that spam is now coming from England in form of job offers & trust fund offers [well the 2 I actually sorta read]
Dude, this is awesome!
This wins.
I use to sign up to something called "spam cop" and that really stopped the spammers.
I'll make you a costume, anti-spam superhero....
It will be red, with a yellow S, and a black line-circle thing (Like the No Smoking sign....I'm so articulate...not.).....You will have a black cape and black mask, and you can tell the spammers you will save the world....I bet responding with messages like the one above, plus a pic of you in the costume would definitely make them think twice about spamming you again. They'll be quaking with fear brought on by Anti-Spammer Man!
lol
LMAO!
I too hate those spam emails.. can I have a copy of your software when it comes out? XD
@warflame001 - yes, you were just spammed
@BomCamChuoi - @FireMapleSong - thank you!
@Maroon_5_Best_Fan - lmao totally, just put that picture into the email and they'll never spam again haha
@xpinaixstylesx - absolutely! (for the low, low cost of 29.95, plus tax where applicable)
(P.S. Is scyther your favorite Pokemon?)
I'll try this next time I get spam.
@AHardDaysWrite - yes it is lol
haha, i love the last paragraph/
What I used to do it was reply at them with a concerned msg and get them to reply my emails wasting their time because at the end I wouldnt give a crap about what they were pretending to be.
I just dont understand why do they do this things, no Shame at all from them.
^_^
Spammers don't expect people to actually think and retaliate. They expect people to either fall for it, or just ignore it. Very nice.
Pwned.
haha thats great
